When Michael Schumacher signed for three-years to Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, one of the main problems was how to find and treat the tires balanced on the MGP W01 (2010).
After four years, when the transition from Bridgestone to Pirelli happened, the F1-team had progressed to fix this issue, for example, obtained the first in 2012. And in 2014 to 2017, Mercedes-Benz had prevailed. For now, the expectations are the same, with the W08 follows the same philosophy: to be constant, fast and reliable.
With the F1-methodology of conserves tires, can interfere how the next-generation AMG Black Series could be? The German company has provided, through the last generation, that there are two ways to work.
First, the AMG C63 Coupe Black Series (2012) is the definition of how to destroy tires in a matter of minutes, the goal was to have fun. On the other hand, the SLS AMG Black Series is more stable, close to a pure GT3-Race for track days.
In a near future, the next AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ Black Series will be classified as a drifter-destroyer-tire, and the AMG GT R Black Series is going to be more planted to attack corners and intend to make ambitious power laps, a W08-drive-style-GT3 version.
So, the Black Series, which represents the last hurrah for a Mercedes-Benz version, is going to be the same. The client has to find out which one is the best version.
