Among 27 cars sold in Europe, 14 were hatchback. As a general rule every car company want a share of this important market and for this reason there are many strategies to sell, the most fomous is offering discounts.
The consumer who want to buy one, wish a three key-elements. First one is the reliability, fuel consumption and pay the lowest price on insurance.
However another element is missing to add-on, a distinct design. For example Peugeot 307 had a beautiful front-end line (photo), and today, it has a conservative one. Beautiful but not inspired.
And repeat the same formula on the new Kia Ceed, Hyundai i30, and Ford Focus.
So it’s represents that the Mk8 Volkswagen Golf will be flamboyant? For now, there is any chance, because it’s the definition of conservative design. And could be the motivation for all four automakers above to give an impression that they went to a pub and had agreed that: we do not stand out our design and let’s be moderate.
